MassIMPACT (IMproving People’s Access to Computer and Technology) represents a vision for maximizing the benefits and usefulness of information technology and related media. The key to the effective and growing use of technology is, in a word, PEOPLE. When people come together for the purposes of idea exchange, experience sharing, collective thinking, proactive planning and applied innovation, the results are positive and the potential outcomes are infinite. This process is the paradigm for increasing the use and effectiveness of digital technologies in a manner that uses information and images to educate and empower communities across Massachusetts.

MassIMPACT is the framework for the development of a broad-based consortium consisting of entities and representatives from community technology centers, academic institutions, public schools, private sector companies, non-profit organizations, professional associations and government agencies. The shared interest within the consortium is the “innovative application of digital technologies to bring about positive outcomes in society.
