Creative Narrations
Creative Narrations is a consulting organization that specializes
in multimedia support and training for non-profit and educational
institutions. Bringing together narrative, technology, and community
development, Creative Narrations’ mission is to provide organizations
with the ability to document and represent the voices and images
of change.
Creative Narrations sees the process of storytelling and skill-building
as essential to self-discovery, exploration, and developing power.
Through hands-on, interactive trainings, Creative Narrations provides
customized digital storytelling workshops to a broad range of groups.
In intensive courses, multimedia novices learn to integrate their
own voices, existing photos, and home video to create stories that
can be viewed on VHS, CD-rom, DVD, or the internet. Creative Narrations
specializes in “train the trainer” models, providing
organizations with the capacity to develop their own program upon
completing workshops.
In the fall of 2002, Creative Narrations provided initial training
to the staff of the Neighborhood Technology Centers. MassImpact
and Creative Narrations continued their collaboration in the spring
of 2003, through their participation in the Boston Cyberarts Festival.
At the intersection of art and technology, Creative Narrations commitment
is to strengthen democracy one story at a time.
