Fieldstone Apartments Neighborhood Network Center

The Fieldstone Apartments Neighborhood Network Center is set up to serve the direct needs of Fieldstone Apartments. The Center focuses on technology and the elderly, with a membership where over eighty percent of participants are over age 60. Offerings include Internet Operations, MS Office, Basic Computing, Keyboarding, Digital Storytelling, and Individualized Assistance.

Participants enjoy a renewed sense of independence through use of the Internet to actively connect with family, friends, and new acquaintances. Use of the Internet also allows members to get up to date on new advances in health care, social security, housing concerns, etc.

Digital Storytelling allows participants to work with elementary and middle school students, including their grandchildren, via intergenerational collaboration and team work, to share their wisdom and experiences in a meaningful manner. Many members expressed a sense of being rejuvenated through the Center experience. The Center constantly strives to understand and respond to the needs of the elderly.
