Technology Centers
MassIMPACT was conceived for the purpose of supporting the vision
and work of the technology centers in Massachusetts. Prior to formal
establishment, approximately
40 technology centers from across the state expressed an interest in joining
and participating in MassIMPACT. These technology centers, and other similar
sites, will serve as Local Area Nodes of Excellence (LANE) for MassIMPACT
as
part of an innovative and well-coordinated plan to “connect people to and
through technology.”
Currently, there are dozens of technology centers on campuses
and in diverse communities across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ranging from small to large facilities, these centers are valuable
assets to the residents, youth, college students and small businesses
that utilize their technological resources and expertise. Within
these technology centers, there exists a reservoir of digital media
capacity, intellectual energy, and commitment to excellence that
is key to building a technologically astute society and closing
the digital divide.
MassIMPACT recently developed a questionnaire to assess the services, resources and handicapped accessibility of each neighborhood network technology center. If you did not receive a questionnaire to and do not see your name of the map or list of tech centers please download and fill out this questionnaire and mail it back to the address listed on the last page.
